Designed by Charlotte Perriand, 7 Fauteuil tournant is a swivel armchair with a trivalent steel frame (CR3), back and seat cushion upholstered in CFC-free polyurethane foam and polyester wadding.7 Fauteuil tournant dates from 1927 and has been mistakenly attributed to Le Corbusier, but it was designed by Charlotte Perriand even before she joined the famous architectural firm. The basic components of each type of seat are arranged around the simplest structure, consisting of a metal tube chosen as the object’s primary support. This armchair is designed to enliven modern homes and still fit into any setting with its sophisticated design. The enveloping backrest of the 7 Fauteuil tournant is derived from some experimentation with inner tubes. Another special feature of the form are the legs, which bend and give strength and stability to the design, eliminating the need for joining pieces. Like the other pieces in the La Corbusier series, it is exhibited in modern art museums around the world, including MoMA in New York.In the Cassina PRO collection it is available in the 5-leg variant. In this version: LC7 Cassina PRO Armchair – Chromed Frame – Upholstery in Wagner Leather _ Cat. W – Lake W020
