Chieftain Chair is an iconic Finn Juhl chair designed in 1949 and reproduced in 2002 by House of Finn Juhl.
The Chieftain Chair is a modern award-winning Danish design project recognized as iconic for over 50 years. The inspiration for this Finn Juhl chair comes from the will to make an important, generous and inimitable seat. Finn Juhl is one of the most important members of the modern Danish movement in the United States during the 1950s, and this is clearly visible in this work. The originality in separating the backrest from the seat highlights the beauty of the wooden frame, taking up the beauty and volumes of the previous Chair 45, this time paying attention to the large armrests that make this seat even more comfortable and elegant.
