Free System Modular Sofa is offered here in a composition suitable for characterizing an entire room. Produced by Acerbis, it takes up a project by designer Claudio Salocchi from 1973 that explores the design experimentation of the entire era. Free System Modular Sofa represents in its complexity, the research in the decade from the 1970s to the 1980s, in which futiristic atmospheres and innovative ways with which to interact with space were imagined. The entire design aims to create a core at the center of living to be experienced and shared with guests by putting them at ease in an informal and participatory atmosphere through the prezence of free and continuous seating. Inspired by Japanese Tatami mats, the designer also decides to furnish the space between the seats creating continuity and originality. Modularity allows you to manage volumes and harmonies to your liking, allowing you to create versatile, easy and free combinations and configurations.Composition as shown in the photo composed of 5 Tatami elements (L. 100 x D. 100 x H. 14 cm), 3 Pouf elements (L. 100 x D. 100 x H. 39 cm), 2 seat modules with curved back (L. 100 x D. 100 x H. 74 cm), 2 seat modules with inclined back (L. 100 x D. 100 x H. 74 cm). Seat height: 39 cm. Solid wood and plywood supporting structure, base with elastic straps, feet and hidden coupling system. Coupling system by special plastic joint. Single-density polyurethane foam padding and polyester batting cover. Quilted fabric upholstery with shaped polyurethane rubber inserts. The cover is completely removable.
