Halo Table Lamp
Halo is a collection of lamps designed by the designer Maarten De Ceulaer and created by the prestigious brand Valerie Objects. The name halo refers to the light effect that appears when the sun or moon shines through a mist of ice crystals and is also used to describe the ring of light around a holy figure.
The project started by experimenting with thick blocks of solid glass and LED’s’, De Ceulaer explains. ‘Glass has an interesting optic quality: light rays travel through it invisibly’. To emphasize this phenomenon, De Ceulaer sandblasted the rounded edges of the thick glass parts. The result is staggeringly beautiful. Only the rounded edge lights up, creating a beautiful glowing halo that seems to float in space.
