MR01 Initial Lounge Chair
MR01 Initial Chair is a seat by Mathias Steen Rasmussen for Gubi. Made of solid oak or American walnut and a 90 meter long rope woven into the wooden structure.
The MR01 Initial Chair was conceived by the designer for his home for meditation. Rasmussen is inspired by traditional craftsmanship with original ideas and clean and familiar, yet surprisingly contemporary shapes. The idea for this chair began with the seat, which extends to the rear leg, providing support for the backrest. Its low incline is designed to give a sense of buoyancy to the user. In this armchair there is no left or right side before it is assembled and four of its five cross bars are identical, simplifying construction and reducing waste.The Initial Chair will acquire a pleasant patina with aging, giving it a unique charm, perfect to combine with the other seats in the living room, it gives originality, but with discretion. The addition of the rope to the armchair is a characteristic of Rasmussen's design, in fact he often loves to combine organic materials complementary to wood, creating a dialogue between the two.Cushion upholstered in Karakorum 003 included (60x20cm).
