Passeggiata Archeologica Plate on White Background
Passeggiata Archeologica is a collection of dishes designed by Gio Ponti and produced by Ginori 1735.
Ginori offers this decoration in both variants designed by Ponti, with a white background and a black background, to still be made with the decal technique that is applied in a single time. Gio Ponti recovers the classicistic inspiration of the Manufacture, which evokes the eighteenth-century taste of the travelers on the Grand Tour, but presumably also refers to the route, inaugurated in 1918, at the excavations in Rome and referred to as the Archaeological Walk. The decoration, which combines with the contemporary Gentile Activities, shows figures that find their spatial dimension thanks to the perspective given by the tiled floor on which they move. After firing the decal, for both decorations, we proceed with the gold thread made with a brush.
